Packaging Research: Securing unit loads
Targeted optimization of load unit securing – Research aimed at reducing material usage
Unit loads are secured to protect goods from the stresses of transport, handling and storage (TUL). Our research has shown that this securing is often significantly oversized. As part of a research project, the securing measures could be reduced for all loading units of the participating industry partner.
Based on our research findings, it should be possible to save significant amounts of load unit protection materials in many sectors of the economy, especially in the food industry.
Research Report:
This research project was funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK) and the Working Group of Industrial Research Associations/Alliance Industrial Research (AiF).
